TE TAKIWĀ O TE ROROA

Ko wai rawa he tangata hei noho mō tō whenua?
Ko Tūturiwhatu, ko Tōrea,
Ko ngā manu mātai whanga o te uru.

The takiwā of Te Roroa stretches along the west coast of Te Tai Tokerau (Northland), Aotearoa-New Zealand, from the Hokianga Harbour to Tokatoka on the banks of the Wairoa. It encompasses the valleys and waterways of Waimamaku, Waipoua, Waikarā, and Kaihu. At its heart is the Waipoua Forest and Kai Iwi Lakes and the majestic Maunganui and treasured Kawerua on the coast.
